Quality control

The quality control and qualifying system of Ipsos Insitute

In order to comply with our quality assurance principles we operate a Quality Control Department independently from the research and infrastructural departments. It is a guarantee for our Clients to obtain the expected high-quality research results from our Institute.

The independent Quality Control Department controls all on-going researches regularly. Our experience shows that only with a regular feedback of the results gained by the operation of the quality control and qualifying system can we ensure we obtain reliable and accurate work from the participants in the workflow and with this we can guarantee the reliable research results to our Clients.

The task of the Quality Control Department is the objective control of the process – from the drafting of the questionnaire to the delivery of the system file – according to pre-defined considerations. Moreover, it reveals, evaluates and types up the mistakes that arise in the process and indicates them to the participants in the given part of the process.

As far as quality control is concerned the data collection session is of the greatest importance, since this part of the process determines the quality of the research to a significant extent.

Controlling the data collection of quantitative researches

The first stage of the control process takes place after the entry of the research data, but before the actual processing and evaluation of them. At this stage we run our own developed control program in the entered data file, which reveals the possible logical contradictions in the data. In such cases the reasons for the contradictions can be revealed immediately, the reasons for the mistake or the causer can be identified and the necessary steps to correct them can be implemented.

At the next stage of the control process the whole work of the interviewer delivering contradictory information is controlled. This direct control is performed per telephone or personally and it covers not only the control of the data, but as well as compliance with the rules of sample usage and the appropriate interviewing. It provides opportunity for recovering the possible interviewing errors and mistakes already during the data collection and it ensures the avoidance of sample loss. With regular control we can employ only interviewers who work trustworthily and correctly and to dismiss those whose work fault can be found with.

Controlling qualitative researches (focus groups or researches based on other kind of quota sample design)

In this type of research we check first of all whether the persons involved in the research fully meet the requirements laid down by the researchers. We use the filter questionnaire for the control and we examine the fulfilment of each requirement.
